what turned out to be special about the artist residency in S.Thailand was a connection made with Aey Pakorn, a gallery owner, graphic designer and artist in his own right.

the process was like this:
Aey asked me if he could use some of the visual material I made for the album artwork.

i said yes. . .

itrusted his aesthetic judgement as we discussed many topics and histories. In the short time we had together we had many references in common, so Aey had complete freedom.

his sensitivity to the font that the publisher faitiche utilises was also thought about in great detail. he told me he decided to use a very ‘normal’, unpretentious Thai typeface in keeping with the whole visual concept of the Ultra-Materials artwork. it was quite a thrill to see the concert and line-up details presented in Thai script.

here you have it. . . a realised visual remix and variation of the album artwork. needless to say we were both happy with the outcome.
